I tell people all the time that teaching your dog to come when it is called and socializing it with other dogs and people at a young age is the best and most important thing that you can do for your dog! That being said, there is SO much more that you can teach your dog, from tricks, to walking politely on a lead, to AKC Rally. You will find that the more you teach and work with your dog the happier you and your dog will be. If you don’t have time to do this on your own or are having troubles keep reading!
Rogue Retrievers offers a Board and Train Program focusing on obedience training that is structured just for your dog. I offer dog obedience training for every level and breed of dog. Whether it is socializing your fearful German Shepherd you recently adopted, teaching your over-excited Labrador Retriever to walk nicely on a lead, or teaching your Border Collie AKC Rally, I have a program for you!
Your dog will be kenneled at my dog training facility in Warren, Oregon. All dogs will be taught the basic obedience commands such as sit, come, stay, and walking on a lead (heeling). Depending on the specific issues of your dog those will addressed too. Your dog will be boarded and trained for 4-6 weeks. For the first 2 weeks I work with them only, then the second 2 weeks I have the owner(s) come out as much as possible. If the dog stays for the full 6 weeks distractions will be added and the dogs will be taken out into the “world” to work on their new skills. For example, the dog will be taken to the park or pet store to work on heeling. The most important aspect of the board and train program is owner participation. Whenever possible the whole family should be involved to help the success of your family dog’s obedience training.
